<description>Greetings! I&#039;m a Senior Art Director/Web Designer in Farmington Hills and I&#039;m interested in joining. I also teach a &quot;Web Graphics I&quot; class for WCC. Thanx to a talented co-worker, usability is now becoming a large part of my design toolbox.

BTW... IUE2009 was a great experience.

Cheers!

		<description>Hello,

I own an Internet marketing consulting firm outside of Lansing. I&#039;m interested in getting involved (if my location isn&#039;t a major deterrent), as we hold a lot of free educational events for small businesses on Internet marketing in our area and sharing of best practices for SEO, PPC and the like. If someone would contact me, I&#039;d appreciate it.

Thanks!

<description>I plan on attending the next meeting. I&#039;ve been a web designer for 10 years and currently run my own design agency. I&#039;ve been a big advocate of web standards since I first started writing HTML.

Please check out my work at http://eight6.com

Best,

<description>My name is Nick DeNardis and I work at Wayne State University in the Web Services unit. I am interested in joining Refresh Detroit, I have worked in the web industry since 1998 or so, I&#039;ve always had a passion for the web, usability and standards.

A little more about myself, ill keep it short I hope. I was born and raised in Sterling Heights, MI. I have done freelance work since 1998 mainly on teacher union and e-commerce sites. I started at Wayne State pursuing my computer science degree and started working in the Web Services unit in the Marketing department as a student assistant, then moved to a full time developer, then lead developer and recently promoted to oversee all the web work that comes out of marketing.

The university has been decentralized web wise since the beginning, central marketing 4 years ago started taking on schools/colleges/departments one by one to bring them in to the University identity and a central server system. We have done roughly 200 web sites, html emails, flash games, you name it and we have done it and continue to grow daily. We have built an in house CMS that integrates with the universities unique requirements.

We work in the LAMP environment at work and now Ruby on Rails in my freelance life. I have included a few URL&#039;s below of our work at WSU and my personal site. The WSU work is in alpha order and some of the sites in there now may be out of validation because the school/college/department have control of the site now. Also we oversee wayne.edu, which we did not design or develop and I am currently heading the committee for its redesign and it is going to be 100% valid, accessible and a lot more usable.

If there is anything else you need from me just let me know. I really enjoy the idea of Refresh Detroit, I love this city and always enjoy helping people out, a lot of our staff is students and we teach them the basics all the way to best practices and working with high traffic sites in a shared server environment. I hope I can be some help and look forward to hearing back.
